Writing press releases is a major concept to understand for success in the public relations industry. However, with the growing influence of social media and technology, social media releases are becoming more prominent. Additionally, social media releases allow companies to relay information directly to clients or customers allowing them to bypass the media.
I wrote a social media release on a fake event that I created for my multimedia writing course. The event, a black-tie gala to kick-off an imaginary summer speaker series, was to be sponsored by The Council on Foreign Relations as well as The Borgen Project.
